An on-board unit: a screen you split into slots, an LED strip and its housing.
What it is for
RACE is a timing unit like those in a real car. Its screen splits into one, two or three slots with the tool you choose, and it has an LED strip.
How to open and place it
In the Suite menu, DDU group, click RACE. On the left you see DISPLAY and on the right its menu.
Click START. STOP removes it.
AUTOMATIC: it starts with the simulator and stops when you close it.
The dropdown chooses which screen it appears on. VR tells you which window to capture in virtual reality. STREAMING copies the link to add it to OBS as a browser source. MANUAL opens this manual on the web.
Drag it to move it and stretch its corner to resize it.
To drive without a click touching it, the Ctrl+Alt+L shortcut locks and releases the overlays.
The menu
Screen
Split the screen: one, two or three slots.
In each slot you choose a tool from the catalogue, including those you make with TOOLKIT.
LED strip:What the strip shows: tachometer, braking countdown or delta. Plus How many LEDs.
RACE wordmark: shows or hides the label.
Housing
Housing finish: matte plastic or forged carbon in several colours.
Common tasks
Building your screen
In the menu, choose the slots in Split the screen.
Choose what goes in each slot.
Adjust its options.
Using the strip as a braking countdown
Load a reference lap in CSV.
In What the strip shows, choose the braking countdown.
Common problems
A slot says the CSV is missing: that tool compares with a reference lap. Load one.
It says it is waiting for a session or a lap: go on track and complete a lap.
You cannot see your TOOLKIT tool: check you saved it and look in the TOOLKIT group.
