PLIA

The full manual, as it ships inside the app.

WHAT IT IS

A race engineer you can ask anything: driving, setups, strategy, iRacing rules, your PC settings, VR and triples… and also how any overlay in the suite works.

You can start WITH NOTHING TO SET UP. We include an AI with a question allowance so you can try it. When you like it, add your own key and there are no more cut-offs.

Free. The other apps' rules always work, with or without AI.

THE WINDOW (just one, everything in sight)

Top: the EXPERT tabs. Each one remembers its own conversation.

The suite questions about our apps: what each overlay does, how to set it
Coach braking, lines, corner by corner, where you lose time
Engineer suspension, wings, diff, pressures and temperatures
Strategist stops, fuel, undercut, what to do if it rains
Rules flags, incidents, licences, iRating and Safety Rating
Wheel to wheel overtaking, defending, traffic from other classes

At the bottom, the input bar, ALWAYS in sight:

  [ type here… ] [+] [Ask] [API] [≡]

+ attach files (CSV, JPG, PNG)
Ask sends the question (or press Enter)
API your key's status. See the next section.
≡ the rest: provider, usage, tools, voice, web, language

THE "API" BUTTON (the important one)

  BLINKING RED no key set
BLUE you have a key and nothing will cut you off

Click it and it walks you through: pick a provider, its page opens, paste the key, done. One minute.

YOU CAN SET SEVERAL at once (one per provider). Then tick AUTO: the app uses the cheapest first and, if one fails (quota exhausted, bad key), it MOVES ON BY ITSELF to the next. You're never left stranded.

Which to pick:

GEMINI (Google) genuinely free. Best to start. Sees photos.
NOTE: the right key starts with "AIza". If yours starts
with something else it isn't from AI Studio and will give
a quota error even though it looks correct.
OPENROUTER free. Models ending in ":free" cost nothing.
DEEPSEEK paid but dirt cheap. Does NOT see photos.
CHATGPT / CLAUDE paid. They see photos.
NOTE: a ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro subscription does NOT
include the API. They're separate and billed apart.
GROK (xAI) paid. Doesn't see photos.

THE INCLUDED AI (to try without setting anything)

It comes with a question allowance per driver. Top right you see how many are left, and when you drop below half we tell you, so you can add your key BEFORE you're left hanging mid-race.

It's for two things: trying the app, and guiding you to set up your own (ask it "how do I set my key" and it walks you through it).

It goes with your iRacing account, so have the sim open ONCE so it can recognise you. After that it works even with the sim closed.

IF IT DOESN'T RECOGNISE YOU The included AI works from a list of iRacing drivers. It is very large, but if your account is new you may not be on it yet.

Before, you were simply left out. Now, if it can't find you, the app offers to LET YOU LEAVE YOUR DETAILS right there: you fill in the form and it gets reviewed. You are not left at a closed door.

REPORTING A PROBLEM If something goes wrong, you can send the report from inside the app. The AI sorts it out on its own so it arrives organised. It's the fastest way to get a bug fixed: if you don't tell us, we don't know.

ATTACHING FILES

The [+] button. CSV (and .txt / .log) and JPG or PNG photos.

With YOUR key up to 5 at a time
With included AI 2 (to try it out)

What for:

  · A photo of the setup screen → "what do I change so it doesn't understeer
    on corner exit?"
  · A telemetry CSV → "where am I losing time?"

From a big CSV we send the header and a sample, and tell the AI how many rows were left out so it doesn't over-conclude.

⚠ NOT EVERY MODEL SEES PHOTOS. DeepSeek and Grok don't, and DeepSeek is what sits behind the included AI. If you attach a photo with a model that can't see, the app TELLS YOU AND DOESN'T SEND IT — we'd rather say so than have it make something up about an image it never saw. CSVs work with any model.

The files you've added appear as tags above the input. Remove them with ✕.

THE MENU (≡)

Provider the key screen (same as the API button)
Usage requests, tokens and estimated cost this month
IA ADVANCE the other AI tools and where they're used
Web connection searches the internet before answering (a bit slower)
Voice reads the answer aloud (uses PL SPOTTER if it's open)
Language Spanish, English, German, French, Italian and Chinese

THE OTHER THREE AI TOOLS

They're not used here: they switch on inside their own app, with the same key.

AI lap coach analyses your lap against the reference, corner by
                   corner. Inside COACH.
Voice co-driver talks to you during the race with alerts and advice.
                   Inside RACE / ADVANCE.
AI report a written report of your session, for AFTER driving.
                   Inside DOJO.

PRIVACY

THE "SEE WHAT'S SENT" BUTTON We don't ask you to take our word for it: you can look. That button shows you exactly what leaves your PC:

"Only a summary of your lap is sent (corners, deltas, braking), NEVER
your name or your key. The key goes encrypted straight to the
provider and never through our servers."

LOCAL MODE · if you want NOTHING to leave On the key screen there is a LOCAL SERVER option: instead of an internet provider, you point it at an AI running on your own PC (Ollama, for example).

  · LOCAL mode needs no key.
  · Nothing leaves your PC. Free and private.

This is the option for anyone who doesn't want to send anything to the cloud, or pay.

THE RULES, ALWAYS

  · Your key is stored ONLY on your PC and goes straight to the provider.
It never passes through Push & Lift servers.
  · Only what you ask and the files YOU attach go to the cloud. Never your
    name or your key.
  · The included AI is the only thing that goes through us, and there we
only count how many questions you've used: we NEVER store what you ask.
  · You can delete the key whenever you want: everything else keeps working.

IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG

"Quota exhausted" / error 429 / "limit: 0" → the classic Gemini one. Your

key works but the allowance is zero. Create a new one at
aistudio.google.com/apikey and check it starts with "AIza".

Error 401 / 403 → the key is mistyped or revoked. Copy it whole, with no

   spaces before or after.

Error 402 / "insufficient balance" → it's paid and you have no credit.

"Model not found" → that model changed name. Try another from the list on

   the key screen.

"You've used your included questions" → the free allowance ran out. Add

your key (there are free options) and carry on with no cut-offs.

"Open iRacing once so I can recognise you" → the included AI goes with your

iRacing account. Start the sim once and you're set.

"This model can't look at photos" → switch to Gemini, ChatGPT or Claude,

   or send just the text.

Nothing responds → check your firewall and antivirus.

WHAT IT ACTUALLY COSTS

A normal question runs about five ten-thousandths of a dollar with DeepSeek. $5 gets you on the order of 10,000 questions.

Tip: set a spending limit in your provider's dashboard and turn on the low-balance alert. And don't enable auto top-up until you know your pace.
